The
Knightly News At our last Little Knights
meeting, we had a Halloween party. Little Knights came dressed in their costumes
and played games and won prizes. Some Knights brought Halloween goodies and
everybody had lots of fun and got lots of candy! The Thanksgiving StoryThanksgiving originated in 1620
when “pilgrims” left England in search of freedom of religion. However, when
they arrived in the New World, many died or got sick. While in the New World,
Indians named Squanto and Samoset taught the pilgrims how to survive the harsh
conditions. In return, they held a
feast to celebrate the good harvest. Today that feast is called Thanksgiving. On Saturday, November 20th,
the Little Knights will be meeting at 10AM at the council hall to prepare
Thanksgiving dinner food boxes for needy parish families.
This meeting will be held instead of the regularly scheduled November
meeting. If you’d like to make a
food donation, please bring your item(s) with you on Saturday. The

On March 14th, the Little Knights braved the cold and marched in the Huntington St. Patrick’s Day parade with the Father Judge and Gate of Heaven Councils. It was a long march but we all had a great time! CREST
CONTEST! We are holding a “Crest Contest.” A crest is a symbol that describes something about a group, such as a family or club. Crests usually have mottos. On the attached page you can draw a crest and a motto for the Little Knights. The winning crest and motto will appear on future “Knightly News” issues. (Crests and mottos will be selected independent of each other, i.e. a winner’s motto may not be chosen with his/her crest.)
